Day twoat theAircalin Kitesurf Prostarted with a bang at approximately 12.30 pm once the typical New Caledonian winds kicked in. WomensRound 1Heats 1 and 2 were completed, and after a two hour break to wait for the tide to come back in, MensRound 1Heat 1 waswas also completed.

Hannah Whiteleyfrom the UK dominated the first womens heat, landing aKGBthat gave a high score of8.27.Annabel Van Westeropfollowed close behind also landing a impressive display of tricks including a niceS-bend to Blind. Both girls now pass through directly toRound Three. Local ridersPauline ValesaandMarine Dupratwill pass through to Round Two.



In the second heat of the day it was current leaderBruna Kajiyafrom Brasil who was on fire, making every trick look easy as she pulled out aKGBandSlim Chancegiving her a good advantage over her competitors.Paula Novotnafollowed her through toRound Threeafter starting slowly but gaining better scores towards the end of her heat.Rita Arnauslanded a high scoringBack to Blindtowards the end of her heat, and she will be going through toRound 2withlocal riderMaureen Castelle.



Once the tide had filled in, theMens Round 1Heat 1 commenced, and it was formerWorld Champion Alex Pastorwho mastered his heat, with a massiveHeart Attack 7,showing a huge amount of commitment in all of his doubles. The icing on the cake was his grabbedKGB5that gave him the win.Antoine Fermonfrom France and Austrian RiderStefan Spiessbergerboth fought hard for the second spot in order to jump straight through to Round 3, but it wasFermonwho cruised through with a powerfulFront Blind Mobeand aDouble Heart Attack.Spiessbergerlanded a niceFrontside 7and aBackside 315but just missed out on the 2nd position by 0.2 points. He will pass through to Round 2 with French riderVictor Hayswho managed to overcome his recent knee injury and landed a cleanKGBandSlim5.



By the end of the first Mens heat the sun was starting to set. A successful first day of competition on the beautiful shores ofNew Caledonia.Skippers meeting has been called tomorrow for 10am with a first possible start at 11am.
