Day three commenced with some promising wind, sunny skies and ideal tide conditions. The event commenced at 11am, withMens Round 1Heat 2. The full round was completed for the Men, as well asRound 2for the Women.



For the start of Heat 2 the wind conditions were still fairly light, with the competitors using 13m and 14m kites. The athletes struggled to go big but2x World Champion Youri Zoondominated the heat with a powerfulKGB5, 317andBackside 315. He was followed closely by French riderVal Garatwho also nailed a niceKGB5but couldnt back it up with hisSlim7that he crashed. Fortunately, he nailed a niceFront Blind MobeandCrow Mobe 5meaning that it was him who would be joiningYouri Zoonand passing directly to the third round.

Local riderGuillebertrode extremely well. He was powerful and stylish finishing 3rd in his heat, and joining him in Round 2 isSebastian Garat.

For Mens Heat 3 the athletes were still using large kites and struggling to find enough height to score doubles.Marc Jacobsfrom New Zealand scored the top position, opening with a massiveHinterberger 5, backed up with a goodKGB5.Brazilian riderSet Teixeiraalso landed a niceSlim7andBackside 315, gaining second place and joiningJacobsin Round 3.Paul SerinandDavid Tonijuanrode solid heats and will both pass through toRound Two.



Mens Heat 4 saw Brazilian man of the momentCarlos Marioland a massiveSlim 7that gave him an easy win. He also nailed aHeart Attack 5to jump through toRound 3.Jerome Cloetenscame in second just 0.02 points in frontof newcomerSimone Lamusse.Cloetenslanded a cleanFrontBlind MobeandKGBwhileLamussescored aHinterberger 5and perfectDouble Heart Attack.Sergey Sotovfrom Russia will also be joiningLamussein Round 2.

On the Womens side, it wasPauline Valesawho was victorious in her battle with fellowlocal riderMarineDuprat. They both landedS-bend to Blind,Back to Blindand313s butValesarode with slightly more power and scored the win.

We saw a great heat betweenRita Arnausfrom Spain and local riderMaureen Castelle. Rita was on fire and landed her 7 trick attempts including a greatSlimchanceandS-bend to Blind. Castellerode with a lot of style and landed a niceBack to Blindbut she unfortunately suffered too many crashes and lost her lead, leaving Rita to pass through to the next round.

Competition was called of as the tide became too low. Skippers meeting has been called for 10 am tomorrow with the first possible start at 10.30 am.
