KiteWorldWidehas launched a new destination for 2019 – Djerba, the peaceful multicultural island off the coast of Tunisia. Djerba is mostly known for its whitewashed desert buildings, vibrant souks and turquoise waters lapping white sandy beaches. Now it is about to become a watersports hotspot for kiters who like to immerse themselves with culture on their active holidays.

The kiting spot is so new that KiteWorldWide had to apply to the Tunisian government to set up a kitesurfing spot on the island. The destination team at the company fell in love with the hugeflatwaterlagoon which is perfect for beginners, intermediates and advance kiters. The lagoon has an expansive standing area, making it the perfect place to learn to kitesurf. The kiting season runs from March until October

The new KiteWorldWide Village Djerba is only 15 minutes away from the kiting spot and features 22 differently coloured typically Djerbian furnished rooms, including a junior suite, honeymoon suite, and spacious family apartments. The KiteWorldWide village hosts a pool, yoga room, several chill-out corners a spacious terrace and a shisha lounge for cosy nights.

The location is suited for single travellers, couples, and families. Non-kiters can get their moneys worth in Djerba as well, thanks to various activities like stand up paddling, yoga, massages, horse and camel riding, shopping, and All-Terrain Vehicle tours into the desert.

Sara Jolly UK Manager of KiteWorldWide says: While we fully understand that the UK market is currently less receptive to holidays in Tunisia, Djerba is famous for its embracing its multicultural heritage, and the island is unique in that Jewish and Muslims inhabitants live harmoniously alongside each other. Djerba isnt yet on most kiters radars, which is why we are so excited to be able to offer the KiteWorldWide village exclusively.
