Hadlow and Emanuel Injured on Day 1 of the 2019 KOTA

On January 31, 2019   |   By thekiteboarder.com

On Thursday 31 January, 18 of the worlds most formidable big air kiteboarders battled it out on day one of Red Bull King of the Air 2019, which saw four rounds completed. Heat by heat, riders land incredible moves in the epic wind and swell conditions the South Easter delivered.

The day, however, was not without a few upsets. Crowd favorite and two-time winner of the event, Aaron Hadlow (UK) and SAs Joshua Emanuel had to retire due to injury in rounds two and four respectively.

With the wind subsiding late in the afternoon event Sportive Director Sergio Cantagalli called an end to Day One with a close eye on the forecasts for the next possible South Easterly wind.

Stay tuned to find out when the final rounds of the competition will take place.
